Inertia: or what screws up your life.

Why do we stay in the unrewarding job? Why do we study the unfullfilling major? We do we keep a shitty marriage going on? Why do we live in country we hate?

It’s inertia.

We are so hung up on keeping the status quo, we are so afraid of changes, we are so caught up in the mediocre things.

Work. Money. School.

Why don’t we set out priorities straight? We do we give up living as long as we can keep our average, well, I can’t even call it life?

Why do we tend to choose the easy way? the one tried before? Why do we rip off the same plans and dreams of other people just because we’ve seen them get there?

Schools are mass-producing people, jobs are mass-producing people, even clothes stores are mass-producing people.

It is inertia, it is because we are fools enough to go on doing what we do even when it loses its meaning, even when we find out that it’s never meant a thing.

As long as I got a place to go to in the morning to get enough money to find a place to go to at night. And the circular logic continues in just about everything.

Why don’t we stop spinning, get out of the familiar road, take a minute or two or take as long as a decade to find the place we want to be in and jump headfirst towards it?

My country from a bird’s eye view

The semi-official results for the Egyptian presidential elections are out now, and one of the old regime remnants is rising for the final round, someone from the supposedly-thrown regime is coming back for another era of corruption, injustice and inhumanity.

Assume it is an anthropological experiment, for 30 years the looting continued, till at some point the revolution tipped, unexpected and unprepared for, stirring different reactions but attracting more believers. What happened then?

The revolution had ended with a notable number of deaths and injuries, most of them are people who lost their sight or became paraplegic. Those people live among us right now and they know they lost their lives as they knew it for nothing and no one.

The lesson here about human nature is its love for slavery and idol worship, the reasons to why people choose to follow someone are unknown to me. Maybe it is because you go through your life among people belittling you and bit by bit you become convinced that you are a nobody and you warm to the idea of sticking to someone of perceptible higher rank than yours, hoping that some of his importance will diffuse and reach you. The approval you get from better people are the reason why you approve of yourself, even if their approval was symbolized only by “letting you” be a part of their halo.

Another lesson is how much people seem to value safety over freedom and physical possessions over spiritual meaning. How short-sighted people are, they don’t want to endure the possibility of someone breaking into their houses or their cars but they don’t mind being robbed of their rights by an unjust system. People look for the sugar coating, they want to be fooled as badly as the people fooling them want to. They are ready to be used, consumed and oppressed as long as some materialistic remains will be tossed at them to make up for their complete loss of self-worth.

Now what I believe is going to happen to this country isn’t difficult to predict, actually nothing will happen. We have succeeded to maintain the shittiest status quo. The fancy elite will continue to live the oblivious life, the middle-class will continue to hold onto their mediocre belongings and their average life, celebrating a false sense of security and a mild taste of life, while the gap widens more to throw the Poor into unexplored areas of deprivation.

The powerful and corrupt will remain ruling, let that be Rotarians or people with over-sized beards.Expect no significant changes whatsoever. Yes I am talking to you, Islamophopics.

The next president won’t fight poverty and ignorance, because poverty and ignorance got him where he is now.

"What’s more haunting than the thought that you are not good enough but you can keep on trying?" reblog like 0 We hate you so you’d like us

There is a noticeable tendency among people nowadays to describe themselves as misanthropists, haters, cynical and socially-repulsive.

I can totally understand and relate to those who had lost faith in mankind, but don’t you think it is a bit overdone?

As if people like to sport this attitude; I generally hate you and you should work your hardest to prove to me that you are not the fool I am expecting you to be. And strangely enough, this attitude seems to appeal to others and attract them too.

Hate, indifference and apathy is now the general trend, people are looking for new ways to communicate with people and gain their acceptance, just subtly.

Well, true apathetics and misanthropists aren’t really here among us, they are depressed and locked inside their rooms, done trying with the real world.

It would be really unique to find someone’s bio-for instance- saying that one really likes people company and he strives for it, just to be a bit real to oneself.

The Genius Of The Crowd by Charles Bukowski

“beware those quick to praise

for they need praise in return

beware those who are quick to censor

they are afraid of what they do not know

beware those who seek constant crowds for
they are nothing alone

beware the average man the average woman
beware their love, their love is average
seeks average.”
